Joint Degree Through Stern and Tisch Now Offered

Written by Lauren Tai
Stern recently added a new degree program. In addition to offering the Bachelor of Science in Business (BS) and Business and Political Economy Programs (BPE), Stern now offers students the option of double majoring alongside Tisch School of the Arts through the Bachelor of Science in Business and Bachelor of Fine Arts Program (BS/BFA). This program is designed for students interested in film and television, and focuses on the business aspects of these industries. The dual degree takes roughly five years, or ten semesters, to complete and is a conduit for students looking to pursue careers within the film and television industry.
Freshmen and sophomores currently enrolled in either the BS in Business Program or the Kanbar Department of Undergraduate Film and Television at Tisch are eligible to pursue the Stern-Tisch BS/BFA as a dual degree transfer. The program requires applying Stern students to first submit a creative portfolio consisting of various pieces of work including film, video, drawings, paintings, or stories. Students in the program will be able to gain business and creative skills as if they were enrolled in either program individually. Interested students are advised to apply by early next year, as the program is highly selective.
